Compassionate Care for All Your Oral Tissue
Your teeth are sustained and nourished by a variety of tissues, and the care for those tissues is part of our dental treatment. Come to Horan Family Dentistry for healthy gums and effective treatments for gum disease.
During your dental examination, we'll take a look at your gums for signs of disease, infection, irritation, or other problems. We'll examine the areas below the gum line, and we'll perform procedures necessary for good periodontal health. To schedule an appointment, please fill out our online form or call our office.
Care for a Wide Range of Periodontal Issues
- Deep Cleaning — Sometimes called scaling and planing, a deep cleaning is a method of cleaning the area between your gums and your teeth. It's one of the most common treatments for gum disease because it removes plaque and damaged tissue and promotes healing.
- Gum Disease Treatment — Other cases of gum disease require more advanced treatments, and our dental professionals provide them. We'll carefully examine your teeth and gums and make recommendations based on our findings.
- Gingivitis Treatment — Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease. If plaque builds up bacteria, it can lead to inflamed gums. You may notice sensitivity or bleeding while brushing or flossing.
Signs of Periodontal (Gum) Disease
When caught early, most forms of moderate gum disease (like gingivitis) can be successfully treated. More advanced cases may require surgical care. If you spot any of the signs of gum disease, please contact us right away.
